On Wednesday July 8 2009, Caroline Kay will be talking about the work of the Bath Preservation Trust during the last 75 years

The meeting takes place at 6.45pm at St Mark’s School in the library.
We hope to have time to chat over tea or coffee after the talk.
There will be a charge of £2 to cover costs.

Cllr Bryan Chalker will talk about Larkhall in the media. Bryan is a prolific writer for many magazines and periodicals, covering topics on a range of subjects from Cars to Allotments, but he also has a strong local interest too.

Listening To Larkhall

We are very much looking forward to a presentation by Kath Holden on Monday 12th May, on the Listening to Larkhall Oral History Project. Kath and the other group members have already begun to interview Larkhall residents past and present in order to put together a series of memories on disk.

This is an opportunity to record life in Larkhall, the features of everyday life by the people who have experienced it. This will prove a fascinating resource not only for residents now, but for generations to come.

April Meeting

We are hoping to see new and existing members at our April meeting - because we have the exciting opportunity to have a private tour and viewing of the local history resources at Bath Library. Ann Buchanan, the local history librarian will be presenting all sorts of maps and documents, indexes and journals which will help us uncover what has been happening in Larkhall in the past.
We featured this week in the Bath Chronicle - and we are looking for people with stories to tell about our featured photographs and we are getting new photo's all of the time.
Bath library closes at 6pm and we will be having our special meeting from 6.30pm.
It would be lovely to see you there!

The oral history group is collecting memories of Larkhall, from its residents old and new. If you have a story to tell and would like to share it with us, either in a recorded interview, in writing or by joining in with a reminiscing session, please let us know - or if you have a family member, neighbour or friend you think would have something to share and we could invite, please let us have their details so we can invite them.

Wanted! Old Photographs

Do you have any old photographs of Larkhall or its people? Could we have copies for the blog and for our exhibition board please? We are looking for electronic copies, or your own copies that we can copy and scan and return to you.

We would like to make an exhibition board of images of Larkhall which will be available for events in and around Larkhall, giving information on our history, anything you can let us have would be wonderful
